My first Co-Op as a part of the University of Cincinnati’s Professional Practice program was as a graphic design intern at the Cincinnati Art Museum.

CAM’s design team worked closely with curators and living artists to design exhibitions and graphics that supported the art on display.

The team also worked to improve the visual identity and accessibility of the Museum’s permanent collection with updated signage and labels.



ROBERTO LUGO: HI-DEF ARCHIVES


In March 2023, Roberto Lugo, a Puerto Rican American potter based in Philadelphia, spent 2 weeks in residence at CAM. While he was there, he threw pots in front of a live audience, which went on to be displayed as a part of the exhibition. To help explain Lugo’s process, the graphic design team created illustrations of the steps in his working process.






ROSENTHAL EDUCATION CENTER 



The Rosenthal Education Center (or REC) is an educational family space in the Museum that is updated seasonally with activities and art-related information. For Summer 2023, the graphic design team updated the graphics that surrounded the room with new seasonal colors, layouts, and use of the REC mascots.  






CREATING CONNECTIONS



For Creating Connections: Self-Taught Artists in the Rosenthal Collection, The graphic design team was tasked with on-site branding and exhibiton graphics.

The show was a collection of work by self taught, or “outsider” artists. Connecting these diverse works with the brand was the biggest challenge when designing the identity.
